Almost Time for Alpha 6!


Hey all!

Alpha 6 is almost here! I've spent the last few days on quality of life stuff so here's the new additions;

  • If using a gamepad and it is unplugged or disconnected mid-play the game now pauses
  • Start/ESC/F1 pauses and unpauses the game now
  • When using menus Tet has lent a glove to help you see what option you've highlighted

  • Fixed an issue where the Mutation Window's gamepad controls were kinda janky
  • Holding Left or Right now keeps the shape moving rather than having to tap over and over
  • Full Tetris Official Controls cloned for the game so Tetris fans will feel right at home
  • You can now rotate Clockwise AND Counter Clockwise!
  • Added gamepad controls to the Gallery

So I'm hoping tomorrow or Sunday I can release Alpha 6 for you all to try.

The last few things I'd like to get fixed if possible are;

  • Save/Load
    I don't know if this will work on a browser build of the game though.
  • Preview/Rotation Matching
    Currently whatever rotation you lock in the current shape as, the next shape will be at that rotation. As a result the preview of the shape and the rotation of the shape that is spawned don't always match. I wanna try to fix this so the rotation of every new shape is 0.

So not much! Alas the Save/Load will take some time as it's where I struggled in previous projects like Liminaut so that should be fun!
