The progress on TetRogue Alpha 6 is going strong but it's all boring behind the scenes stuff to implement the unlock system so nothing visual to show off. Instead I thought I'd show some fun little references in the Blocks of TetRogue! :D

Onigiri

Let's start with an obvious one. I have a slight obsession with Onigiri to the point where one of my reoccurring characters in my games is OniGary the living Onigiri!

And of course these blocks are based on the worlds best "Jelly Doughnuts" ;-)

Bubble Frog!

On the topic of my own characters, the unlockable Single Block is this fella;

Who is a direct reference to my first commercial game; Bubble Frog DX!

Jammie Dodger

This ones a little bit more obscure though for people outside the UK as I'm fairly sure these fellas are unique to our little island, the block looks like this;

And their inspiration? The very yummy biscuit called a Jammie Dodger!

VHS Case

And finally for today, one I've had a lot of people ask about, this strange looking block:

Anyone from the 90s or earlier will no doubt remember VHS tapes although I'm not sure how many will be aware of the iconic blank VHS tape boxes;

Of course I had to change the T-120 (time - 120 minutes) to B-120 (block -...120...minutes?)

So there you have it!
