Welcome Liminaut, you are the newest member of a very special team.
Once your subconscious has been split and merged with the system you'll wake up in The Compound, a thought space just above the Dreamscape, a large collection of dreams, thoughts, and concepts filtered though the human consciousness.
Your job will be to explore and catalogue these spaces, passing on your findings to The People Upstairs.
Secrecy is of the upmost importance in this mission. It is in no way hyperbolic to say that what you are doing is for the good of all humanity and could bring about a golden age for mankind.
Good luck Liminaut. Your name will never be known by those you influence, but this department will forever be in your debt.

Welcome to Liminaut, a surrealist exploration game.
Currently what is playable is 0.1 also known as TAN. This version of the game lacks a story or ending, it is all about the experience of exploring these surrealist spaces, enjoying the atmosphere, and immersing yourself in Dreamcore, Weirdcore, Liminal Design, and Surrealism.
Future updates will bring with them more spaces, a story, notes, item descriptions, a deeper dialogue system with your fellow Liminauts, as well as endings but for now consider this less a 'game' and more a 'digital experience' :-)
All feedback is welcome!

Title Music by Tom Ciccone
All Other Music by MakotoHiramatsu
This game basically plays like an interactive album of my favorite pieces by MakotoHiramatsu! Some tracks have been slowed down to fit the feel of a space though so I strongly recommend you check out their work here on itch!

Just when I think the liminal space trend has become tired and dull, a project like this comes along and proves me wrong. After spending time milling around these spaces, I'm eager for more from Liminaut.
The story and sense of purpose that is hinted at in the Liminaut's hub is very intriguing and I'm interested in seeing what you add on top of the loop-like nature of your world-building. (What happens when a Liminaut brings an artifact back? I gotta know about cross contamination AHHHH!!)
If I may make a suggestion that might be of interest. Please take or leave it though because I love your instincts so far: I'd love to see less linear travel (A->B) in the excursions the Liminaut takes. What about different paths? Like, one of my fav things in a game is finding a weird/obscure path and seeing where that leads. In the green fog arch world, there's a path behind the player that leads to a ledge. I'd love to see you play with level design in this way! Even 'dropping' off the ledge could create a new path or detour!
All in all, excellent work Timbo! Can't wait to see what you do next. It's an honour of mine to see that lil alpaca in such a neat project.
Oh wow, thank you so much for such kind words! I've been worried Liminaut was a bit too derivative or boring so this gives me a lot more confidence in my project :)
Also thanks for the feedback! You'll be glad to know in future updates as the Dreamscape expands Red Doors will not be the only means of finding new locations however much the People Upstairs may tell you so ;)
I hope you'll enjoy 0.2 when it releases as I'm hoping to include a lot more hints at the story as well as more "things to do" (mysterious I know! Mwehehehe)
