Welcome to TetRogue!
TetRogue is a Roguelike "Block Stacking Puzzle Game" (you know what it is )game where the aim of the game is to see how far you can go as the game gets more and more cruel with the shapes it throws at you. Don't like the shapes on offer? You could always take a cursed row giving you less space to play in, maybe that would be better? ;)

TetRogue is currently Alpha 6.0.1! A lot of the mechanics planned for the game are not in yet.

Just curious, are times you get new blocks random? I feel like this because sometimes I get a new block at 10 lines, but sometimes my first is at 50.
Really? That shouldn't be happening. It is supposed to be every 10 lines you clear you get a new mutation window where you have to pick a new block or take a cursed row.
Or do you mean when you unlock new blocks to appear in the Mutation Window? If so they're not random but there's all different requirements for unlocking them including clearing 10 lines, clearing 50 lines, getting multiple 4x Multi's, losing the game multiple times, surviving for 5 or 10 minutes. Lots of things. When you finish a run, if you click 'main menu' there's a gallery button, in there it shows all unlocked shapes and how you unlocked them :)
Just got the glitch again, here's some information:
I went to the main menu after my last game, went to the gallery to see I had two block types left, went back in to start a new run, only got my first new block or cursed row option at 30 lines
Ooooh thanks! I totally missed this glitch, I'm assuming at the end of a run it's screwed up the tracking on rows cleared so I'll get that fixed asap :D any name you'd like to go by in the Credits page when I add it? You deserve to be in the special thanks for catching that as I may have never caught it without you! :D

I'm not sure I even understand what that means. I know that I'm tired it's late so let me rephrase. Will a full drm free non steam version be here with all features or should I pass this game by and wish you well.

I really like this game, but can you add the quick drop feature for controllers?
Another suggestion, you should add difficulty modifiers like bigger or smaller stages!

Yup stuff like different stage shapes are all planned for future updates :D Currently you can make the stage harder by selecting the cursed block option every 10 clears :D but proper options are planned!
It's fine for now... could be a little more fun. :v tho I will say, I can see the potential of this to come. also, a bit odd to only let me pause by switching tabs or scrolling down.

Pause is coming in a (hopefully soon) update :D I've had lots of feedback from people of stuff that I've been oh "what? Why didn't I put that in?!" and pause is one of those 'features' haha

Yup, Escape, F1 and Start (on game pads) all pause and unpause the game now :D

This was pretty fun! Though the lack of any sort of hold mechanic is noticeable, I would recommend adding one.

I don't know how the special blocks work or what they do, seemingly nothing from what I've seen other than having unique shapes.
The current shapes are just new (and awkward a lot of the time) shapes but I'm working on some unique shapes that'll have powers :D
great job. best tetris rogue I've played. I like the mascot face and music. One big criticism is the controls. space is most often quick dead in my experience. Space and E felt very awkward to me. I would love a settings to customize them.
Thanks for the feedback! :D I'm planning to have remappable keys in a future update but that's good to know! I'll admit my Tetris experience has almost always been on stuff like Game Boy so it didn't occur to me there was already a PC standard for the controls! I'll look into changing the basic setup of keys too!
