DevLog 9: Bad Guys


Good lordy it's been a little while hasn't it?

Life got a bit hectic then I got ill then I had art block, but I'm slowly getting back on track and thus today I have some new enemy designs to show you!

First up we have 001 - The Bouncer! This fella was inspired by the rabbit Badnik from Sonic the Hedgehog called Splats. The idea with this enemy is it will remain stationary but if it sees or hears (it's hearing is good) the player it'll begin bouncing towards them, once within range it'll time down and blow up unless destroyed (the player can step outside the area of the explosion too). The plan is to have the little antenna bobble on his head blink red when he's going to blow up too, although I need to figure out how I'll do that.


And next we have 008 - DogBot! This is inspired by the dog robot thing from Boston Dynamics, but I wanted to make it very top heavy. It carries a laser gun on it's side and due to it's little legs moves quite slow, but it's laser can pack a punch. Luckily when the gun begins to charge, wherever the player was when the charge began is where it'll fire, so it's easily side stepped, you just have to be careful, if you're too busy fighting other enemies these sneaky fellas could easily get some good hits in on you!


That's all I have to show for today but wanted to show I'm still alive and the project isn't dead! :)
