Update 3
Good evening Liminauts!
Todays a shorter update but that's because I'm making stuff and not showing it off so you'll all have some new and interesting things to experience in the released game!
I did wanna show off something though, the first "Waker".
Wakers will only appear in a few Spaces of the Dreamscape and their job is to try and force you to wake up and end your prying into their world. This is the first one known in the files only as "Face".When it isn't chasing you from the shadows it's actually very goofy looking. I used a public domain picture of a sweet old man, blacked out his eyes like you'd expect in a mid-2010s horror movie, added some holes to his skin which don't even show up in the actual game really, and made his skin darker and redder than the original image.
After that I UV Mapped it to a really clunky model with lots of awkward geometry which was intention for the final step which was to use the PS1/PSX Model Shader by Grau on Godot Shaders so that as he moves and you move all his vertexes jiggle about making him unnervingly jitter :D
He's also bound to a pre-determined track which he'll follow all the way to the end of the Space and through the Red Door, meaning if you don't leave you WILL be woken up, so you better make a run for that door!
When "touched" by the Face (I say touched, the hitbox intentionally reaches out a little in front of him and to the sides to avoid the player stepping around him, so you never actually make contact with the Face) you'll instantly wake up in the sleeping bag back in the Liminaut Compound ready to delve back into the Dreamscape but don't forget to take a look around the Compound, you never know what followed you back from the dreams...
