Update 2

Good morning Liminauts!

The game is coming along well, in the last 24 hours I added a new explorable Space, added a function for tracking what Spaces you've visited in previous delves into the Dreamscape, added an animation that plays when the player wakes up from a trip into the Dreamscape, and begun the background ground work for having Spaces alter slightly each time they're visited (allowing for rare events and stuff).

At this current design rate I'm hopeful to hit 20 Spaces to explore in less than 2 weeks.

That raises the question; when do I release Liminaut?

To be clear, this isn't "when to I call Liminaut finished?", Liminaut is a project that may never truly have an end because it is so easy to add new content too it, new little hidden stories lost in the Dreamscape, new unnerving spaces, and extra bits of lore to the larger world oh the Liminauts. For all I know years from now I'll be struck with inspiration and add a bunch of new scenes long after development has died down! Because of the nature of the game there isn't really a "finish point" where I release it. I want to release it in an earlyish stage so people have the fun of exploring with the knowledge that the Dreamscape will continue to grow over time.

My current plan is to get to 20 Spaces then do a second pass of those spaces adding in extra details (including the first hidden hints of what the Liminauts are and who the People Upstairs may be), then a third pass adding in audio. Once that is all done I think I'll release Version 0.1 which I've been calling Tan (named after Shaun Tan who's books have been majorly influential for me).

From there I can begin to promote the game better, hopefully get some eyes on it (I know people love Horror Indie Youtubers so fingers crossed some of them may check it out!), some feedback, and I'm sure all of this would motivate me even more :D

A SHOUT OUT

This is a quick shout out. Yesterday I decided on Threads I'd show the inspiration behind one of the Spaces in the game, the Space is called "The Fall" (pictured above). Funnily enough though when finding the origins of the images that had inspired me (both of which I'd separately discovered while on Pinterest) I found out they were both from the exact same artist! So if you're looking for awesome atmospheric inspiration in the form of Liminal Space Art I STRONGLY recommend checking out Akiyo on Instagram! :D

BACK TO WORK

Welp that's enough of my rambling! I better get back to work! Hopefully have an update soon showing off some new content but from now on I'm gonna be picky about what I show because obviously where would the fun be in exploring the game if I show you everything on here? ;)

Thanks for reading!
