Depthsite
A downloadable game for Windows
This short horror game takes about 5-10 minutes to complete. There are no jump scares but sounds may be unpleasant at times. Hope you enjoy :-)
STORY
Welcome to Depthsite.
You sit in a research vessel sent out by the Department of Aquatic Research after a trench in the ocean which had been deemed "dead" now shows rapid signs of new life.
In front of you is your computer. From here you'll take control of the Bug01, a Drone Submarine designed to collect and relay data to your ship.
What's down there? It's your job to check.

ABOUT
This game was built for the My First Game Jam Winter 2023. It was built using all original assets or Public Domain/CC0 assets often heavily remixed. The theme was growth which I took as to mean the growth of new mysterious life.
The game was built in Pixel Game Maker MV, a fun if limiting tool but good for anyone who struggles with code like I do. Baz's awesome tutorials were a big help.
THANKS
A big thanks to everyone in the Game Jam, the forum has been a good encouragement through making this game. Big thanks to user mcniner for coming up with the name for the game (the WIP name was 'Life in the Sea' which is pretty dull!).
Thanks to everyone on the Chumbles Discord server (you all know who you are).
As well as thanks to Kathryn for keeping me focused and offering many ideas for plot twists. Big thanks to Jacob and Nathan for looking through my writing to make sure it made sense. Oddy for making sure I actually did work. Also big thanks to SirKingyo who is my Analogue Media Buddy (and I'm sure you can see why that's relevant)

Quite an interesting way of story telling with mix-media approach. I like how you handle in-game speeches with old style text-to-speech machine sounding voice. (Somehow reminded me of that telephone scene from 'Blank Check'!)
Congrats on finished making this one, TJ!
Thanks for putting me in the credits!
You deserve credit! :D
