Good evening lovely peeps!

So work has restarted on Bubble Frog!

Obviously with all 50 levels complete and the whole game built I stopped work to focus on getting the Kickstarter ready, but now it's running (and over 40% funded) I've begun work on the upgrades I've wanted to apply to the game.

The goal is to give this the coat of paint you'd expect to see in a DX title on Game Boy Color. Nicer visuals, more animation, and generally giving the whole thing a bit of an upgrade. In the style of Link's Awakening DX I'm also planning some fresh content in the form of the previously mentioned Ink Zone too!

So what do I have to show so far?

First up the first of the NPCs getting an upgrade. Trimly now has a smooth mouth animation and blink animation to make him less static. I'm limited by sprite frames but may use tile swapping to add even more movement to the scene. For the first NPC I've added animation too I'm very happy with the result, plus I'm learning new things about how I can work around sprite color limits and so on!

Up next is a Cameo from the character from a little side project I've been working on; Squid Face Jones! This NPC will be the introduction to the Ink Zone. The Ink Zone will also star 5 other NPCs which are all going to be based on Kickstarter Backers (or their OCs), something I've not tried before so that should be fun! :D

Also an update on the physical release of Bubble Frog for Game Boy Color!

Looking stunning I'm sure you'll agree! The promotional image is in Spanish due to Retro Game Shop being Spanish but the Box, Manual, and Game are in English! :)

So that wraps it up. With development beginning again updates should pick back up on here but until the Kickstarter is wrapped up I do have to focus a lot of my effort on Marketing! :)
